From the makers of ‘Smell the Truth,’ ‘Smokestack’ and ‘Sesame Street,’ this new comedy is the latest to take on the tobacco industry.
Smokey,’ directed by Rob Reiner, is about a man who discovers that a man from his hometown has invented a cigarette-smoker machine and he’s using it to make extra cash.
The film was released on June 29.
‘Tobacco Smoker,’ starring Anthony Mackie, is set to open June 17 in theaters.
It stars Chris Evans, who will play a salesman who is trying to sell cigarettes to customers who have been hooked on tobacco.
Reiner also stars as the man who invented the cigarette-poker machine.
The movie is produced by ‘Smoker, LLC,’ which is based in Los Angeles.
Reiners brother Rob has worked on films like ‘Smog,’ ‘A Mighty Heart,’ ‘The Dark Knight’ and others.
Reinemasters wife, Kristina, also produced ‘Smoked and Loaded,’ which also stars Evans.
‘Sonic’ director Joss Whedon was also a producer on the film.
‘This movie is so much fun, so smart and so funny, it will be a hit with fans of comedy,’ Reiner told EW.
‘I’ve always loved comic books, but I never expected to be able to make a movie about cigarettes.
The best part is I was able to put my ideas into the movie.
It’s an exciting time for the industry.’
Reiner says he hopes to get ‘Smoking &.; Smokey &c.’ out to theaters before the summer.
‘It’s like a dream come true to me.
I love working with people like Rob Reiners, Joss, Kristin and myself.
We’re all just so good at making these movies, so it’s exciting.’
‘Smokers and Smokers,’ which features stars Evans, Mackie and James Earl Jones, is directed by Joe Cornish.
‘You know, there are some of the funniest guys in the world, and I love the guys I work with, but we’re all in this together, and this is the best time to be working together.’
