The British Medical Journal says that it is not the first study to show that the pill has some kind of effect on the heart, but that the study was the first to show it in a healthy population.
The paper says that, as with the pill, the study used a large cohort of people who had not smoked, and the researchers followed up after four years.
They also looked at how the pill affected people’s health over time, and found that it made a difference, said study co-author Dr. William Walker, a cardiologist at the University of Sydney in Australia.
But it did not say what that was.
“There’s a lot of work that needs to be done,” Walker said in an interview.
“It’s something that we’re just now getting to the point where we can talk about it and say how does it affect people and how does that affect their heart health.”
The study was published in the British Medical Bulletin, which is published by the British Heart Foundation.
